What is rest and recovery coaching?
Do rest and recovery sound familiar to you or are these words you only wish fit into your lifestyle? Rest and recovery are integral to your health and must be prioritized for many of us. While rest and recovery may not come naturally in your schedule, coaching in this area will help you make time for this important aspect of your wellness.
How It Works
We start by checking in on your sleep patterns and check to see if you’re getting enough quality, consistent sleep (7+ hours daily). Chances are, you’re not. With our culture’s busy, busy, go, go approach to life, prioritizing sleep can make a world of difference in your rest and recovery.
Additionally, I help you learn to prioritize yourself without guilt. Many people I work with struggle to prioritize their needs or carve out time for themselves. You learn how to check in with yourself and see if you need rest. Rest can include meditation, sleep, or simply just alone time doing something you love. I develop practical habits you can sustain that allow you to have down time, be away from stimulation, and take a break from absorbing information. We are not machines, yet many days that’s exactly how we treat ourselves.
Working On Your Rest & Recovery
Notice Without Judgement:
How do you currently make time to rest or recover in your schedule? Do you feel rested or like you have the time and space to recover when you need to?
Keep It Simple:
Reflect on what makes you feel most rested. If you’re not getting adequate rest or time for recovery, how would you ideally like to?
Plan and Prepare:
Use your calendar to schedule rest into your busy schedule. That can be an afternoon to take care of yourself or a 10 minute meditation each morning.
“My life has changed with Holly because she offers such a personal approach to my overall wellness. She has taught me to listen. It isn’t about completing the reps, it is about honoring how you feel. I just love having her in my life as a resource and tool to go to when I am doing awesome or when I do not feel regulated.”
